Abbie’s Surgery: A follow up
As I’ve noted in a previous post, Dave and I embarked on a journey to replace the turn signal switch in my car. After three days of work, we fixed the switch, but in the process ended up with the horn not working.
After three weeks of waiting, mostly not driving my car due to the tools spread everywhere, I decided to persuade Christine to accompany me back down to the garage to try to fix it. We took off the airbag and steering wheel and couldn’t figure it out. Finally, when I was ready to give up and just leave the horn unhooked, Christine suggested that maybe the black wire should just be grounded. I hooked it up to a metal piece and reassembled the wheel.
Much to my surprise, after everything was put back together, I pushed the horn and … meep meep! It works!!! Thankfully for me, I brought Chris with me and she suggested the solution. Now, not only did I fix my brake lights for only $50, but fixed it all correctly. Sweet.
